Anthony Pilkington

FCA, Managing Director

Anthony founded the company in 1994 seeing a need for quality book-keeping together with Management Accounts. He works to win new business and has responsibility for the strategic development of the Company.

Anthony qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand in Bristol after graduating from Bristol University where he read Economics & Accounting. He has worked for BAe Systems, Unilever, Marsh & McLennan (Bermuda), TV Times and Time Warner. He has a strong IT background evidenced by the Company providing from as far back as 2003 what are now called Cloud services.

Zara Rayson

Office Manager

Zara's responsibilities include client and staff relations, resource management and everything else involved in the running of a busy Head Office. She also chairs the Company's monthly senior management meetings. Being one of the central contact points for BookCheck's fifty or so members of staff she has also earned the title of Company Agony Aunt! Before joining BookCheck in 2002 Zara was Office Manager for a large coffee machine company based in the South West.

Having ridden and worked with horses in her younger years (Zara is a fully qualified riding instructor), she now likes driving her open top sports car. She also loves caring for her 2 Bengal cats – Simba and Nala.

Kate Culley

Finance Administrator

Kate works closely with Zara assisting with the day to day running of general office administration. She is also responsible for the bookkeeping of BookCheck and keeping the management databases updated. Kate has also implemented the Company Health & Safety Policy. Before joining BookCheck in 2007, Kate worked for a number of years as a payroll and price control clerk for Sainsbury's.

Kate has taken on a new role and is now a valued member of the payroll team.

Caroline Wilson

Marketing & HR Manager

Caroline works in the BookCheck head office on our marketing strategy, helping with office administration and acting as a personal assistant to Anthony.  She loves walking her dogs, travelling and spending time with her children.

Bernice Jaggard

Accountant & New Client Manager

Bernice works as an accountant for our settled clients producing the monthly BAR packs (BookCheck Advanced Reporting). She also works closely with new clients ensuring a smooth transition and tailoring our BAR pack to suit their individual requirements. She is qualified with ACCA while working in practice and has worked on a self-employed basis. In her spare time she enjoys running and volunteering at her local parkrun.

David Plumb


Prior to joining BookCheck in early 2017, David worked for a variety of SMEs as Company Accountant. His work has involved him in a number of different sectors such as: aerospace professional services, IT projects, and environmental services. Married to fellow Bookcheck colleague Janet, they like to spend their time with their family, and from time to time attend various live sports events too.  

Mel Mistry


Mel is an accountant in Bristol region. She enjoys working with SME clients from across several different sectors, charity, manufacturing, and retail.

Her passion is to help clients to understand the performance of their business, by tailoring management accounting information and explaining the figures.

Nick Radcliffe


Nick is an accountant in the Gloucestershire region. He enjoys working with a wide range of clients in different business sectors, helping them to understand their business better through clear management information which helps them to control costs and improve profitability. He enjoys country walks, and we are blessed with many scenic ones in the Cotswolds.

Janet Plumb


Janet has been working for BookCheck since 2005, initially as a Supervisor and Technical support, but in recent years as an Accountant.  She also carries out most of the prospective client HealthCheck’s and prepares BookChecks own management accounts .  As an attentive owner of three moggies she is definitely turning into a mad cat lady.  In her spare time she can mostly be found binge watching Netflix surrounded by cats. 

Suzan Brady


Suzan works in the field as a Supervisor for BookCheck and look after our clients and staff in London. This involves working with our bookkeepers and liaising with our accountants to ensure that we deliver what we promise to our clients. When she's not doing a job she loves she spend quality time with her family and friends. She also enjoys walking, cooking, reading and music.


Keri Baker

Supervisor and Quality Manager

Keri joined the BookCheck team in early 2018 and hasn’t looked back since! As a Supervisor at BookCheck, Keri works closely with Bookkeepers to ensure they are supported in their work. In her spare time, Keri enjoys curling up with a good book and is beginning to learn the art of photography.

Jen Mockridge

Payroll Manager

Jen has worked in Payroll Management for the last 10 years, and thoroughly enjoys the constant challenge and pace of handling multiple payrolls each month, along with the diversity that comes with different types of clients.  Her spare time is often spent socialising with family, including grown-up daughters who force her to exercise! She loves to dance, although is limited to those styles which don’t require a partner as hubby has two left feet, so bellydancing, Zumba and Fitsteps are favourite.  Alternatively you will find her in a quiet corner with her Kindle, which is her most treasured possession. Since the children left home she is travelling more, so gradually working my way through a bucket list of places that she wants to see, so always planning the next trip.

Sue Parkhouse

Payroll Supervisor

Sue joined BookCheck in 2010 and has almost 20 years payroll experience. She has worked with all types of businesses and is now the Payroll Manager, heading up the team of 10 payroll officers.  She started payroll whilst working at a firm of accountants, having previously worked as a bookkeeper. 

Sue gained qualifications in payroll with the International Association of Bookkeepers and was pleased to be awarded the top student in the country.

Chris Ruscoe

Payroll Supervisor

Chris is a payroll professional with 20 years of experience, from small businesses to large PLCs. When he's not payrolling he enjoys gardening, live music, local history and travel.

Christine Beard

Payroll Administrator/Bookkeeping Administrator

Christine is a member of the BookCheck team, working as a Payroll Administrator and Bookkeeper from home. Most of her spare time is taken up with her two Grandchildren who keep her ‘fit and active’. She also enjoys walking with her husband, her best achievement being Hellvelyn in the Lake District.

Cecile Murray


Cecile is a bookkeeper in the Gloucester area. She has two very active boys and when their activities allow, she enjoys sewing, particularly Patchwork & Quilting.

Elizabeth Hancock


Elizabeth works as a bookkeeper at BookCheck remotely from home and onsite at clients premises. In her spare time she enjoys baking, reading and travelling.

Louisa Nott


Louisa is a bookkeeper working with a variety of businesses in the stunning Cotswolds. She loves going out to work at the clients premises on a regular basis, meeting their staff and being treated as part of their team. She has three grown up children, one still at home, a yellow hairy Labrador and a wonderful husband who does most of the cooking! She enjoys walking, dancing, travelling and skiing in the winter.

Laura Talboys


Laura has been a bookkeeper with BookCheck since October 2016 and is based in Gloucester. She has two little girls who keep her very busy, and when time allows she enjoys counted cross stitch and has attempted a few different styles of dancing over the years.

Lynda Williams


I am a semi retired bookkeeper, having worked at BookCheck for over 12 years. I still enjoy visiting clients as well as working from home.

In the winter I enjoy going to rugby and in the summer spending time in my summer house and socialising with friends and family.

Linda Catanzaro


Linda Catanzaro is a member of the BookCheck team who has worked with the company for nearly 20 years. She is a supervisor with the Accounts team, and also works in the payroll team. She has worked with many varied and interesting clients over the year.

In her spare time Linda helps her husband with their village garage.

Lynne Leutton


Lynne joined the Bookcheck team in November 2015 and looked after a client in Manchester, mostly remotely, but did travel to the Manchester office once a week.

In her spare time she enjoys playing golf, gardening and recently painting, plus trips to her 3 grandchildren who are in London and Perth Australia.

Laura Hayward


Laura started working in finance 20 years ago and is AAT Level 3 qualified. She is married with two children, Ellie and Toby. In her spare time she enjoys running, having previously taken part in the London marathon, and generally keeping fit. She is very happy to live in the beautiful Forest of Dean.

Kim Swift


Kim joined Bookcheck in 2009 and works both remotely and onsite. She is AAT qualified.

She loves going on holiday, be it to a far flung place or somewhere in the UK. Other interests are her lovely grandchildren , gardening and reading.

Natalia Bottcher


Natalia lives in Cheltenham and really enjoys her job with BookCheck. In her spare time she likes spending time with her family. They do sport activities together, geocaching, camping, reading and baking.

Jane Foster


Jane takes pride in my work and is always striving to expand her knowledge. When not working she can usually be found running around after her son and daughter. She loves spending time outdoors with her children, lapping up the fresh sea air and family means the world to her. Otherwise she enjoys trekking, running, taking on sporting challenges and helping fund raise for CF. If she gets time she also enjoys reading a good fictional novel to escape the madness of everyday life. 

Julia Briggs


Bookkeeping suits the precise and organised side of my character. When not working I enjoy both aqua fit and line dancing , both of which are important elements in my life.

Jane Hillard


Jane lives in Bristol with her partner. She has been working in finance for 20 years and is AAT and ATT qualified. Having previously played in women’s rugby teams she is still an active social member. She attends regular fitness classes and enjoy visits with her young niece and attending music festivals,concerts and weekends away.

Anabel Kingshott


I have worked in banking, treasury and finance for more years than I care to mention but still love that satisfaction when it all reconciles.

As a busy Mum, free time is at a premium. I am Treasurer for a large youth football club, where both my sons play. I love walking, particularly now we have a bouncy Labradoodle who is very naughty!

Lorien Houlton

Payroll Officer

Lorien is a Bristol based Payroll Officer, I.P.P. qualified and with 20 years of varied payroll experience.  She loves to travel to far flung exotic locations but has recently adopted a dog so will be exploring closer to home for a while.

Leanne Dennison

Payroll Officer

Leanne joined the payroll team in June 2019 and works remotely which she enjoys as it enables her to balance her working and family life. She has 10 years of payroll experience; deciding to specialise in payroll in 2015. She became a qualified advanced payroll technician with CIPP in 2018. Leanne enjoys spending time with her husband and her son, reading and going out for meals with friends.

Katie Dillon

Payroll Officer

Katie is a payroll administrator for BookCheck. She has a Diploma in Payroll Management and lots of experience using various payroll systems. When she's not working she's running around after her three children, and when she gets a little free time to herself, she enjoys modified cars and crafts.

Hazel Edwards

Payroll Officer

Hazel started in Banking then after having children she decided to pursue a distance learning qualification in bookkeeping which eventually led her into payroll.

She has worked in accountancy practices, been a self-employed bookkeeper/payroller, worked within a commercial environment and as part of a team in payroll bureaux. One of her proudest moments was passing a new qualification set up by the Pensions Management Institute – the CPAE (Certificate in Pensions Auto Enrolment).

Pauline Remorino

Payroll Officer

Pauline started with BookCheck in 2007 as a book-keeper and then added payroll work. At the time she was living in Cheltenham, she is now in Chichester and was able to continue to work in exactly the same way with payrolls as everything is online.

All her working life has been in the financial sector, handling a wide range of activities, from working in a bank when she left school, to a variety of companies where she handled payroll. She has worked for a national firm of accountants as the payroll administrator.
